Beaumont is a growing family community. Its predominant French culture has led to the creation of excellent schools with dual language education to immerse students in the original foundations of the town’s founders. Residents can expect to find many urban conveniences within the Town of Beaumont, and if a trip to the city is necessary, Forest Heights offers quick access to the south side of Edmonton.

Forest Heights is an ideal choice for home buyers who enjoy getting active in the community. An impressive number of parks, green spaces and recreation centres give Beaumont an advantage as a small urban centre with big-city capabilities.

The Beaumont AQUA-FIT CENTRE, located just a short drive from Forest Heights, is a multi-use recreational facility. The centre is equipped with a 25-metre pool, a large leisure pool for the little ones, a hot tub, a steam room and a refreshing sauna. Other features include a diving board and two-storey pool – both are favourites among families, of course. The building also houses a fully-equipped tness centre and studio, with registered and drop- in programming available.building also houses a fully-equipped tness centre and studio, with registered and drop-in programming available.

A dominant force in the winter months, the KEN NICHOL REGIONAL RECREATION CENTRE is home to two regulation-sized ice rinks and a six-sheet curling complex. From April to August, the rinks are converted to dry-surface arenas. The facility also boasts a public curling lounge, two program rooms, a banquet room, a teen room, a seasonal concession, a small meeting room, the Parks and Facilities of ice and the Beaumont Childcare Centre. For many community events, the Beaumont Community Centre is a 30,000-sq. ft., two-storey building that has capacity to host weddings, company banquets, concerts, dances and more.

And, of course, a major highlight in Forest Heights is having the COLONIALE GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB within spitting distance of the neighbourhood. The 18-hole golf course features well-maintained holes at varying dif culty levels, with the entire course being designed to accommodate players of all skill levels. The facility also houses a practice facility, as well as the Coloniale Grill & Bar, at the clubhouse – complete with stunning 360-degree views of the river.

For home buyers who like to shop, eat out and even travel, Forest Heights is ideally located just minutes from shopping and dining opportunities. With quick access to the Edmonton International Airport, travel days are made easy for residents who often head out of town for work and leisure.

Within the Town of Beaumont, there are various grocery and dining options such as Sobey’s, Beaumont Garden Market IGA, Shoppers Drug Mart and Beaumont Home Hardware. There are also a number of local businesses in the town that are family-owned, like Chartier, a Quebec French style restaurant in the downtown core.

Chartier, owned by Sylvia and Darren Cheverie, offers authentic French-Canadian cuisine under the leadership of their head chef, Steven Brochu. Chartier has been a fan favourite since its inception in 2015, after raising over $100,000 through a Kickstarter campaign. With the help of more than 500 supportive donors, the home-grown restaurant was able to bring fresh, affordable and locally sourced meal options to Beaumont while providing a relaxed, cozy atmosphere.

Just 10 minutes to the north of Beaumont is a myriad of shops, services, movie theaters and medical centres along Ellerslie Road in south Edmonton. Forest Heights residents are also in close proximity to South Edmonton Common and the Grey Nuns Hospital in Millwoods.

Though there are ample green spaces and parks in Beaumont, there are also plenty of spots to embrace nature right in Forest Heights. Residents can enjoy majestic tree-lined walking paths that wind through the community, connecting walkers, joggers and riders to Beaumont’s extensive shared-use trail system.

Forest Heights also boasts a major storm water pond, which protects homes from flooding by collecting rain water runoff. Its natural shorelines enhance the neighbourhood’s landscaping while providing families with a beautiful, exclusive recreation area.
